New Water Tender

We received a low mileage 2009 Freightliner truck from the state of Utah to replace our old Mack truck. The photos below show the transformation from one truck to the other. We could not have done this without the skills of our Volunteer Fireman on the department. This work saved thousands of dollars that would have come out of the towns budget.

Shrimp Boil for Volunteer Fireman

Chief Smith put on a great dinner in January with a Shrimp Boil, he said it was a old family recipe. It was a great evening to visit with each other, and some of our retired brother fireman.

Heavy Brush Truck 177

We received a 6x6 truck from the State of Utah to replace a older 2 wheel drive model we had. All the work that was done to this truck was done in house by our members, and all on their free time. In the photos below will show the progress of the building of this Heavy Brush Truck.

House Fire on December 17th

On December 17 we were paged to a house fire in Genola, we responded and were on scene in 4 minutes of the page out. On scene we found smoke coming from the eves of the home. An interior attack was done, firefighters found the fire in the attic and it was quickly extinguished.

Capt. VanMoos shown in this photo at his last fire with us was a great asset of our department. He has taken a job out of state and the Genola Fire Department wish him the best.

Goshen House Fire

We were paged out to help Goshen and Santaquin on a house fire, upon arriving we were asked to hook a hydrant and lay out 1200 feet of our LDH (large diameter hose) to support the 3 engines already engaged in knocking down the fire.

Flooding In Genola

On September 7th heavy rain fills in a portion of the Highline Canal above Hillside Drive with rocks and mud from West Mountain.

With the help of two backhoes (the Town's and a resident) we were able to get it cleaned out before it breached.  A weather site in one of the orchards in Genola recorded 2.2 inches of rain, much of it coming down within a hours time.
