Santa Is Coming
The tradition continues this year with Santa coming to the fire station on December 15th. Instead of his sleigh he will be using a fire truck. Watch for him from 8:30 until 10:00am as he makes his way around town. He will be then at the station from 10:00am til 12:00 to visit with the children.

Smoke Alarms
Have you checked your smoke alarm batteries recently?
Genola Fire Department urges you to check
your smoke and CO alarms and batteries for the upcoming winter. This is the time of year when most of us use our wood burning stoves and fireplaces.
Smoke alarms most often fail because of missing, dead or
disconnected batteries, so maintenance is a simple and effective way to protect
your family and reduce home fire deaths.
For best protection, it is recommended that you install alarms utilizing both ionization and photoelectric technology, and ones that have long life 10 year lithium ion batteries.
